When my friend told me about Offshore Club, nothing would have prepared me for the actual experience. Set in an industrial estate, it has Western and Local fare that is prepare ala minute by Chef Victor Tan, who had extensive experience working in the States. It wasn't easy to find the place, but the satisfaction of finally finding it and the tasting of the fabulous food makes it all worthwhile!

For those looking for the place, the address!
  • Loyang Offshore Supply Base.

  • 25 Loyang Crescent, Blk 103A TOPS Avenue 1, #09-01,

  • Singapore 508988

The lamb at Offshore Club is beautifully plated with a dash of mint jelly and features a generous portion of lamb.

Three hand sized portions, served with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes is perfect for the pickiest palates as it is juicy and the texture of the meat ( no lamb smell! ) is to the bite and even the fat ( which I normally don't eat ) was tasty and well marinated.

If you like lamb, this is a must try - the doneness was perfect too, when we ordered a medium rare.

Rack of lamb: $19.50

It can comfortably sit about 100 people at any one time, and there is more space at the alfresco area too, except that right now, it is a bit too sunny and hot for alfresco seating. In the evening, the breeze is very pleasant, and you get lovely views of the skies too!

Did I mention that the food is cafe priced but tastes and looks like fine dining? The service here is just amazing too, with the hostess with the mostest entertaining us with her funny takes on life and her child. She really makes one feel at home, and Elvis *rocking always!* her husband as the F & B manager is well experienced with more than 15 years of managing food and alcohol joints under his belt.

I love talking and asking questions, and both Leona and Elvis were so kind as to answer...and answer....and answer! There were so kind as to let me have a photo with the chef too, as I had to go and compliment him on the excellent food and plating.

Plating, to me, is a work of art. The chef, in placing the food on the plate, creates a work of art which is appreciated by the diner, and if the taste complements the look, it makes for the perfect meal. Which I had, surprisingly, today.

Chef Victor at the Offshore Club believes in using the best ingredients and the most aromatic herbs in his cooking. Used to serving in the States, his portions are American sized too. You've seen the rack of lamb I had earlier - check out the rest!

Food at the Offshore Club Review

Salad from the Salad bar - buffet style! Eat as much greens as you like ... till your main course arrives.
The 180g - 200g Haibut Fillet was beautifully battered in the chef's secret batter which stayed crisp despite the fact that I took 20mins to savour it.
If you are into spicy, tangy buffalo wings, you have to try their secret sauced wings! This has to be the best I have tried!
The pumpkin soup was blended to create the creamy texture, instead of the usual flour in soup technique. It reminded me more of chicken curry soup than pumpkin, which I really liked!
My Irish cream coffee looked so pretty! 4 layers expertly balanced - flavour, milk, espresso and foam!
The chocolate truffle cake served with vanilla ice cream and preserved fruit is a must try, The cake melts in your mouth beautifully.

I can't stop raving about the food and service here at the Offshore Club - Leona, Elvis and their team are really astounding, paying attention to the finer details. When I arrived, we asked for water, but Leona was so kind as to bring us what she calls a fabulous thirst quenching drink - the Virgin Mojito Mint!

Made by fresh crushed mind with lime, topped with mojito mint syrup and soda, this Italian soda is really tasty and I ordered a total of 3!
Italian Soda -Mojito Mint $4.50

The decor of the Offshore Club is really quirky, with items from the oil rigs given a new lease of life as decor in the Offshore Club. Can you tell that the base of the lamp is made from a drill found on the rig?

After hearing so much about Leona, you must be wondering who she is, so feast your eyes people!

I loved the experience at the Offshore Club! What a hidden gem - in the middle of the Loyang offshore supply base. Though the security is tight, just tell them that you are going to the Offshore Club and they will let you through. FREE PARKING for those who drive, and plenty of taxis around this area as Comfort has a petrol kiosk for their drivers nearby.
