 | This has to be the best app I've tried for selfies (self shots for short)! Its clever use of graphics that are pretty self explanatory is great, since I can't really read Chinese characters very well. When I first tested the app, I was blown away by the features - they had so many, and yet so few, all at once. They have the automatic feature set on, so the moment you take a photo, you are automatically taken to the next screen where your photo is INSTANTLY edited, without the need to press any other buttons! If you want to change the automatic edit, all you have to do is select a number, "1" being the least edited and "7" the most edited. What it actually does is brighten your photo and blur it at the same time, causing you to look like you have flawless skin that is quite a few tones fairer than what you actually have. Good or bad? You decide, I've got a few photos with the before and after the app has processed it so that you can judge for yourself. |
Later, I played around with the app and found that there were so many other tweaks! You can make your eyes shinier, bigger, face fairer with no dark eye circles, your face thinner, and basically be your own digital make up artist. You can even adjust the brush sizes used in this app! There is no excuse for an ugly photo with this app, because you are able to zoom in by pinching, then adjusting the brush size with the different sized circles, you are able to pin point the exact spot you want to correct.
This app also provides sharing functions, and it has a direct interface to WeChat, which is another app that will be reviewed soon. This makes sharing your beautiful photos really easy, and the moment you reach the final screen, two photos would already have been saved. One photo is your original, and the other is the edited. If you want to edit a lot more, all you need to do is press on the lipstick icon. My favourite part of this app would be the options, and most importantly, it allows you to edit existing photos that you have. The pre and post transformation is so amazing that once you start using this app, there is a danger of you using this for ALL your photos! It saves alot of time and effort editing your photos. If they come up with a version for batch processing, I'll probably be the first to buy it!

   |    | What are the Pros and Cons of this application then? If you take a look at the photos on the left, you would find a remarkable change in all of them. PROS 1) One touch automatic edit 2) Ability to edit the photos easy in the easy edit screen where you can press 1-7 for your degree of edit, 1 being the less edited. 3) Cropping can be done easily so your photos can be resized to specifications of certain programs and sites. 4) Complicated edits and more in depth tweaking of your photo is possible by accessing a different menu, this is for those who are more particular. 5) FREE App, supported by Ads CONS 1) No batch processing 2) No facebook and twitter support. 3) No macro key creation to record the same type of edits. 4) Quality of the photo is compromised, but unless you are blowing the photos up for poster printing, it wouldn't make much of a difference. I would say that this app does all that it promises, and much more. It took me quite a while to think of the CONS while the PROS for this app was a lot easier to think up! |
 Original Photo, unedited. Note the row of possible edits beneath this photo. We will go through all the options with my photo!  The function here whitens your skin by ( to me ) applying a white transparent mask over our original photo, or perhaps it is merely brightening the photo.  The fifth icon looks like a slimming ad, with arrows pointing in towards a person's figure. To show what it can do, I have grossly distorted my next photo. Bear with me!  Now to make the pupils larger. Click the right sized brush and just dot your eye, you will see your pupil looming larger! |  The first function that looks like a scissors is for cropping. Here you can specify the exact size. Just drag the sides.  The slider allows you to change the tone of the photo, to make it more blue or more red. This is useful in colour corrections and you can make a photo more vibrant if you slide it towards the red.  Do you want a really sharp chin or a really tiny mouth? Now you can, just check out the crazy faces you can make with just pulling in whatever you want to pull in from the sides.  See that tiny arrow back? That helps you to erase past mistakes. After making the pupils larger, you want more defination for your eyes. |  The 2nd function that looks like a little wand gives you many filters that you can try out. Swipe to see more filters.  The 4th option that looks like a moon with dots is great for zapping out pimples for the layman, and for the designer, it clones the surrounding, smearing and dotting on the right colour, so the zit is covered up.  Under-eye dark circles are very common in Asian countries. No wonder they have dedicated one option for this.  This gives you the illusion of eyeliner by increasing the contrast of your lines - or at least that is what I think! Look at my eyes, they are so defined! |  The function that looks like a face whitens your photo, and at the bottom of the slider, you can choose different aspects to brighten and heighten contrast.  My photo doesn't have pimples, so I tested the theory of this tool cloning the surround colour and texture, and it is true! Check out the faint smudges in my hair.  Select the size of the brush and you are set to go! It really feels like you have a real makeup brush, because you get instant results!  Finally, after all that editing, you get a photo that is lower in quality than your original, but undetectable when your photo is on the screen and not filling the entire screen. |
